When obstacles arise, change direction, not your decision.

When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, you do not change your decision to get there.” - Zig Ziglar”

The road is long, the journey will be interesting.

Don’t be put off by roadblocks, or signs telling you to head in another direction.

You can still see the top, you might need to adapt and go a longer way round to reach your destination.

As we approach a year in lockdown, many things have changed.
A lot of changes have been positive and we will use them to move forward.

Understand when you set out on your journey that it might not be a straight road.
Stay true to your vision and you will eventually get there.

The journey is fun sometimes and there will be lots of learning.
Even the obstacles can be overcome.

Believe in yourself, you will reach the top.

Here is a simple example.

Perseverance - the willingness to meet your goals.

Today it was windy. It was wild and the rain kept coming. At one point I thought my bike was going to go backwards.
I was 20 miles from weekly target and I had just got outside.

It’s easy to stop and turn back round, however I lowered the gears so there was less friction. I started going at a pace I felt comfortable with.
I kept moving forward.

I have a big goal with my cycling this year, 5000 miles.
I am continuing 100 miles a week when I can. Today I completed my 20 miles, which in turn gave me another 100-mile week.

I kept going, I wanted to for me.

Start to think about goals you set yourself personally and professionally.
What can you do each day to take a step forward?
If you want them, you will persevere.

Don’t let excuses or outside influence get in the way. Focus on what you are trying to achieve.

Today my focus was 20 miles, halfway into the ride, I turned back, and the wind was now on my side. I had flow and I had momentum.

I decided I wanted those miles, I changed direction to get them.

Keep going until everything starts to work out for you.
