Your morning routine, start well, live well.
I slowly started to wake up, the noise of a car passing outside, the feeling of the warm covers wrapped round me and then slowly opening my eyes.
It was Monday morning, I feel good. The temptation to roll over today wasn’t there.
I jumped up.
I’ve worked on a routine for a number of years and it’s basically a series of habits which kick into gear.
Today I hit the ground running, there was a spring in my step for sure.
A pint of water, 25 press ups and then putting on a podcast. I had booked the swimming pool for 8:45. Whilst getting ready and eating breakfast I was learning.
I tend not to look at my phone in the morning as I don’t want my day dictated to me by others.
During breakfast, I take out my gratification journal and write down everything I am thankful for that happened in the last 24 hours. The memories made bring a smile.
A short blast of music then off to the pool, where I will swim continuously for at least 30 minutes. I think here. I think about my vision, my day and my dreams.
Then it’s time to stretch. Some time in the jacuzzi where I can focus and then mediate.
Over the last few years I’ve been interested and in growth and self development.
I wanted to know how successful people, become successful. How do they keep turning up every day?
The morning routine became something I heard over and over.
A series of small habits that are done each day, which overall will lead to bigger results.
It was time to make a change.
Personally I wake up and whilst getting ready, will have a podcast playing, I am learning as soon as I wake.
I would eat a light, healthy breakfast whilst listening to my mentors.
Next up I like to go to the gym, though I would go here around 9:30/10am, when everyone else is running about crazy in the office. I do this for no distraction.
I like to think. I would use the swimming pool to think over the main vision and the tasks in hand.
I then go through a series of gratification, external focus, visioning my day and then thinking of something I have done in the past, that makes me proud.
I then like to laugh, it’s good for the soul.
This process of being grateful is thought of in a sauna, where I am essentially meditating.
The extreme focus, is all about my day ahead.
I use the morning for me. Each and every day.
By the time I start working, I know how exactly my day is going to pan out - I’ve planned it in advance and now used my time to think things through.
It gets bigger results, as no time is being wasted.
I’m a big fan of learning and movement. These really get you going and start your day well.
Sometimes even when not feeling up to it, I start the process over and it clicks me back into gear.
Start your day with some small, consistent good habits and watch what happens.
I’m setup for the day, I’m setup for the week!
